A virtual reality (VR) app created for VRTherapies. A local social enterprise that provides VR as a therapy for children and also include help and support for adults with disabilities.
This application focuses on different types of breathing which helps with mindfulness; focusing on your breath and other physical sensations to help ground the user. The general theory is that practising mindfulness through meditation can help you notice the signs of stress and anxiety in day-to-day life, and help you disentangle yourself from those patterns of thought.
With that in mind Pixli created a number of environments that would engage the user and allow them to relax in an environment that would put them at ease.
Each environment has a different breathing excercise to practice. Though it was noted during testing that a lot of users just enjoyed being within a different environment to their own, enjoying the sights and sounds.
